The euro zone industrial producer price index was unchanged in July from June and was down 0.6 per cent year-on-year, the EU statistics office Eurostat said.
Compared with June, the euro zone's intermediate goods sub-index rose 0.1 per cent in July, while the energy sub-index was down 0.4 per cent.
The capital goods sub-index was unchanged, the durable consumer goods index fell 0.1 per cent and the non-durable consumer goods index rose 0.1 per cent.
Year-on-year, the intermediate goods sub-index was down 0.1 per cent and the energy sub-index down 4.2 per cent. The capital goods sub-index was up 0.8 per cent, the durable consumer goods index up 1.2 per cent and the non-durable consumer goods index rose 0.9 per cent.
Eurostat said the year-on-year fall in the overall PPI mainly reflected energy price decreases. Without the energy sector, industrial prices rose by 0.5 per cent.
For the EU-15, July's PPI was also unchanged in July from June and was also down 0.6 per cent year-on-year.
