One recently deceased politician who should be recalled when you next head into a dead end is the late Jack McQuillan. In his native Roscommon he is remembered as the man who had legislation passed by the Dail compelling local authorities to erect cul-de-sac signs in the appropriate places.
Of course he is also remembered in the county for his part in bringing Sam Maguire there 54 years ago. Sam hasn't been back since.
