Analysing Sign Language at TCD: Dr Rachel Sutton-Spence of the Centre for Deaf Studies, University of Bristol and co-author of the award-winning book The Linguistics of British Sign Language will give a lecture – Analysing Sign Language Poetry – this evening from 7.30pm to 9pm in Room 2037, Arts Building, Trinity College Dublin.

Open Days at RACE for Aspiring Jockeys: The Racing Academy and Centre of Education (RACE) in Kildare is holding open days on Tuesdays in May. Starting today at 2pm and continuing on May 10th, 17th, 24th students, parents and guidance counsellors are invited to view the facilities, meet staff and find out more about the trainee jockey course. This 10-month residential course is sponsored by FÁS and combines practical riding instruction and work placement with FETAC modules in racehorse care and exercise, stable and yard routine, information technology, maths, communcations and personal effectiveness.

Educate Together meeting: Educate Together, the national representative body for multidenominational education in Ireland, is holding an information meeting in the Marine Hotel, Sutton, Dublin 13, on Tuesday May 10th at 8pm. Workshops for Primary Principals: Leading in a Culture of Change is the title of a series of three one-day workshops facilitated by Prof Michael Fullan in association with the Irish Primary Principals' Network (IPPN). The workshops are for principals, deputy principals and others in educational leadership roles. Venues: Springfort Hall, Mallow – May 9th; Corrib Great Southern, Galway – May 10th and Castleknock Hotel, Dublin – May 12th. The fee for each workshop is 1150.
