Francois Chambraud, the new director of the Alliance Francaise, Kildare Street, was for some 10 ten years a member of the French Department of Education. Until recently he was a lecturer at the University of Marne-La-Vallee. The Alliance is undergoing a period of growth, offering a wider-than-ever variety of language courses as well as a greater choice of class times. Under Chambraud the Alliance Francaise will be developing its involvement with French music and cinema with classes in creative writing, French literature, current affairs and translation.
