A total of 13 schools from Cork city and county are taking part in an inter-schools debating competition, as part of a project to raise £5 million to restore St Fin Barre's Cathedral. The final debate will be held in the cathedral at the end of April.
The aim of the competition is to raise the money for the cathedral's restoration and development. It is hoped to build an interpretative centre underground in the forecourt of the cathedral which will house archaeological and archival material.
