Dublin assault victim remains in critical condition

A cyclist who was attacked in Dublin City at the weekend remains in a critical condition in a Dublin hospital.

The assault happened on Grafton Street early on Sunday morning between 1.30 a.m, and 2.30 p.m. The cyclist, who is in his 30s, is believed to have fallen off his bicycle into a group of men who then set upon him.

He was knocked unconscious and taken to St James's Hospital by emergency services.

Yesterday, gardaí at Pearse Street described his condition as life threatening and appealed for information about the incident from anybody who was in the area at the time.
