Digital Media conference set for May Day

Ireland¹s first National Digital Media Conference (NDMC) will take place on May 1st, it was announced today.

Ireland¹s first National Digital Media Conference (NDMC) will take place on May 1st, it was announced today.

The content and format of the conference, launched by the Minister for Public Enterprise Mrs Mary O'Rourke, has been designed to appeal to stakeholders from across the telecommunications, media and technology sectors.

Delegates will hear the views of leading figures in the digital and online sectors and will be invited to participate in workshops, the output of which will be used as the basis for a paper representing the views of the industry.

Keynote speakers at the conference will include Martina King, CEO of Yahoo UK & Ireland; Mary Mangan, COO of Ireland.com; Daniel Stevenson of Jupiter MMXI; and Prof Mary Lamkin, the PJ Carroll Professor of Marketing at UCD.

The range of subjects covered and the opinions aired will reflect the conference¹s theme of Competitive Strategies for Survival.

The three interactive workshops will each be chaired by panelists relevant to the subject briefs of "Finance and Industry Development", "Telecommunications and Infrastructure" and "Media and Advertising".

The NDMC is an initiative by organisers Digital Media Intelligence, a joint venture company formed by Perfect World and Hoson Publishing. Event sponsors include The Irish Times, Ireland.com and RTÉ.
