Glasgow - The Scottish First Minister, Mr Donald Dewar, was yesterday admitted to hospital for major heart surgery.
Mr Dewar is to undergo the operation today on a leaky aortic valve at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, his spokesman said. He is expected to be in hospital for at least the next 10 days.
