So, why another release from the PGA Tour crew so shortly after its last? It's probably because Si- erra Golf, Maxis Sim Golf and Jack Nicklaus 4 have all recently taken pot-shots at the two so-called untouchables. However, PGA Tour Pro has stuck to the old traditions of the game - there are no fancy ways of swinging the club or course-design facilities. Instead, you have the tried and trusted method, albeit a little glossier. For those of who you already have PGA Tour 96, there is not a lot here to make you part company with another £30 or so - but then, die-hard fans will probably be among the first to do so. One of the new features is Flash Draw, a new technique to redraw the screen after each shot, taking only a fraction of a second and leaving more play time. Also, the graphics have been tweaked to give the whole game a smoother look and EA Sports Net allows you to play over Local Area Network (LAN), modem and over the Internet.
PGA Tour Pro comes complete with TPC Scotsdale and the Bay Hill Club courses. This special edition also features the renowned Pebble Beach links. So, while it isn't ground-breaking, it will certainly hold its own.
