The death has occurred of former Finnish prime minister Harri Holkeri who played an important role in the Irish peace process.
Mr Holkeri, who died on Sunday aged 74, was co-chairman with senator George Mitchell and Gen John de Chastelain of the multiparty talks that led to the Belfast Agreement on Good Friday 1998.
Mr Holkeri received an honorary knighthood from Queen Elizabeth for his contribution to the process.
Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams said it would be for “co-chairing the talks which led to the Good Friday agreement for which he will be most remembered internationally”.
