O’Gara and wife sued by Cork furniture company

Rugby star in legal dispute with firm over installation of luxury furniture

Former Munster and Ireland international rugby star Ronan O’Gara and his wife Jessica are being sued by a luxury furniture company.

The O’Garas have been has been given six weeks to prepare his defence in a civil case brought by the Cork-based company.

Bespoke handcrafted furniture specialists House of Coolmore Ltd, Raheens, Carrigaline, Co Cork, brought the motion against the O’Garas, Marybourough Hill, Douglas, before the Cork county registrar today.

At a brief court hearing before registar Deirdre O’Mahony, counsel for House of Coolmore asked for a six-week adjournment of proceedings to allow the O’Garas to prepare their case for defence.

No details of the action or the sum of money involved were given. It is understood the action revolves around the installation of a luxury furniture item at the O’Garas’ home.

The adjournment was granted and the civil proceedings are set to resume in six weeks.

Mr O’Gara did not attend today’s hearing.

He is based in France where he has taken up a coaching contract with Racing Metro.
