A homeless couple in their 40s have erected a tent outside Cork City Hall and are refusing to move until the local corporation provides them with accommodation.

Ms Bernadette Barnes and Mr Noel O'Sullivan were asked to leave a rented house in the city's north side a fortnight ago.

Ms Barnes has vowed that she will not leave until she is provided with accommodation by the local authorities.
