The Continuity IRA has denied that it has formed an alliance with the "Real IRA" or dissident INLA members. CIRA said there was no truth in recent media and security reports that formal talks had taken place between anti-Agreement republicans from a range of paramilitary groups.
In a statement to The Irish Times, accompanied by a recognised codeword, a CIRA spokesman said: "There is no alliance with other bodies, no formal discussions have taken place and no joint strategy exists."
