A large collection of sketches by the late dress designer Sybil Connolly, sold in Dublin on Wednesday, are to be donated to Limerick's Hunt Museum. Antiques dealer Mr George Stacpoole of Adare, Co Limerick, who bought nine boxes of sketches at between £900 and £1,700 per box, said he had been acting for Ms Denny Summers of Palm Beach, Florida, who runs a company called Perfect Day in Paradise. An admirer of the Hunt Museum, she had paid for the sketches which will now be given to the Limerick institution where they will be put on display. According to Mr Stacpoole, Sybil Connolly had also been an enthusiastic supporter of the museum.
