Members of the Revenue Mobile Service and the Customs National Drugs Team yesterday seized 1,500 cases of vodka which had arrived at Dun Laoghaire from Belgium in a container labelled as "foodstuff". The vodka has a value of £160,000 and would represent a loss to the Exchequer of about £130,000. The truck and trailer have been seized and a man is being questioned.

Earlier this week, the Customs National Drugs Team seized 75 kilograms of cannabis with an estimated street value of £750,000 from a premises on the northside of Dublin.
