SIPTU'S regional secretary, Mr Jack Nash, has welcomed the Government Task Force's Report on Bullying in the Workplace and said he now was keen to see employers engage in meaningful negotiations on introducing workplace agreements with his union.
"To date we have only negotiated less than 50 workplace agreements on bullying under the PESP/PPF. I hope that having welcomed the findings of the report, IBEC now will encourage its members to sit down with my union to agree the implementation of more agreements along with a `Dignity at Work Charter' as recommended by the task force," he said.
"It is a sad reflection on society today that the findings of the survey on bullying reported 10 per cent of female employees and 6.4 per cent of males experience some form of bullying in the workplace," he added.
