Penang - Passengers were recovering last night after escaping from a blazing cruise liner which later sank. Stories of courage and chaos emerged after 1,104 people took to lifeboats when fire broke out on the 30,000-tonne Sun Vista off Malaysia.

Passengers sang the theme tune from the film Titanic to keep up their spirits as the evacuation went on. Eventually all 472 passengers and 632 crew safely reached Penang in Malaysia.
