British judges for Kosovo
London - Britain is to send up to a dozen judges and lawyers to Kosovo to help restore the country's judicial system, writes Rachel Donnelly.
The first group of lawyers is expected to arrive in Kosovo at the end of this month and comes as concerns mount about the slow rate of progress in restoring normality to the region.
The move was announced after the British Foreign Secretary, Mr Robin Cook, met the UN Secretary-General, Mr Kofi Annan, in London to discuss Kosovo, the continuing sanctions against Iraq and aid, economic and political issues in Africa. Mr Cook said justice in Kosovo was a key part of international strategy in the area.
