London - The British warship, HMS Glasgow, was last night setting sail for the waters off East Timor, a Downing Street spokesman said.
It had been taking part in exercises in the South China Sea near Malaysia but a decision was made to re-task the vessel after the Prime Minister, Mr Blair, expressed his deep concern about the increasing "descent into chaos" in the area. It is due to link up with an Australian naval force, for which it will provide communication links.
