Baby dies in Antrim car crash

A one-year-old child has died in a road crash in Antrim, police said.

A one-year-old child has died in a road crash in Antrim, police said.

Another child and two women have been taken to hospital for treatment following the incident on the Dublin Road.

The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

The crash occurred at around 9.50am.

The road remains closed and police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

In a separate incident, a 39-year-old man died when two lorries collided in Coalisland, Co Tyrone, this morning.

He was driving one of the vehicles involved. The second driver has been taken to hospital but his condition is not yet known.

The crash happened on the Ballynakilly Road shortly after 9.30am.

Today’s deaths come after a 71-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash on the M1 motorway yesterday evening. That crash also occurred near Coalisland.
