Australia and the United States have signed an agreement to conduct drug tests on each other's athletes.

The two countries will test visiting athletes for performance-enhancing drugs and share information and technology on doping.

Australian Anti-Doping Agency chief executive John Mendoza said: "This agreement significantly strengthens our ability to protect athletes' rights to fair and doping-free sport."
