A video shop owned by a Catholic in the Woodburn estate in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, was destroyed by fire early yesterday. The owner was abroad on holiday.
A few hours earlier a petrol bomb was thrown into the front room of a Catholic-owned house in a nearby estate, The Birches, causing scorch damage. The householder was away at the time.
Carrickfergus has had numerous attacks on Catholic homes in the past year.
