Our rulers and minders were back at their desks this week. But for Charlie McCreevy it came as a shock to his whole system. On Tuesday he switched on his desktop computer which runs a constant stream of international stock prices - essential info for running a booming economy like ours. It wouldn't work. On the one day since he took office nearly 18 months ago that markets were crashing all round, his information system broke down. Possibly it was the strain. Help was called.
