Aer Lingus management has welcomed the acceptance by 2,500 employees of proposals to resolve an outstanding pay claim.
Under the terms of the agreement employees will receive a 5.5 per cent increase, including substantial retrospection. In return the employees, who are members of SIPTU, have agreed to co-operate with the company in achieving savings of £50 million in the company's operating costs. The savings will be made through a partnership approach to change within the airline.
