A heroin addict who claimed he was an IRA man hiding from the gardai when he robbed an 82-year-old woman has been sentenced to four years in prison by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Brendan Reynolds (23), Aldborough Parade, North Strand, was already serving a seven-year sentence imposed last December for armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms. He pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary.
Judge Frank O'Donnell directed that the four-year sentence run concurrently with the seven-year term and that both be reviewed on October 17th, 2001.
