French outdoor advertising company JC Decaux said today its 2002 profit more than doubled due to improvements at its street furniture and billboard businesses, and it forecast first-quarter revenue growth.

The company earned €26 million for the year comparedwith €10.2 million in 2001. Its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation rose 7.4 per cent to €405.3 million.

JC Decaux expects first-quarter organic revenue growthadjusted for currency, though its street furniture operationwould show slightly negative growth in that time.

It projects organic growth of two per cent in street furniture for 2003 if market conditions don't deteriorate further.
