Three men were being questioned tonight after the seizure of a firearm in Co Meath.
The suspects, two aged 31 and a 34-year-old, were arrested at about 10am as they walked along Alexander Road in Navan.
A Garda spokesman said all three men, who are believed to be from Dublin, were arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act.
They were being detained at Navan, Trim and Kells Garda Stations.
"Investigations are continuing," he added.
