London - The Princess Diana Memorial Fund, set up after her death in a Paris car crash, will give no money towards landmine clearance but has set aside one £1 million to help the victims of mines.

"We haven't ruled out giving money to landmine clearance in the future but on this occasion we thought the money would be used to maximum effect if aimed at the victims," a fund spokeswoman said yesterday.
