Seventeen workers at a mushroom factory in Newtowncunningham, Co Donegal, are to lose their jobs at the end of this month. Work at the Glenveigh Mushrooms packaging plant, owned by Monaghan Mushrooms Ltd, is to be transferred to the company's main plants at Monaghan and Cavan.
The workers, many of whom have been employed for nine years, were yesterday given two weeks' notice.
