£119,000 award for road death

A widower and his three sons were awarded a total of £119,000 in a settlement approved by Mr Justice O'Sullivan in Cork yesterday following the death of his wife in a traffic accident. The award was made to a Ballincollig supermarket manager, Mr John Cotter, from Tim Daly Terrace, Midleton, against Mr Aidan J. Clifford, also from Midleton. Ms Teresa Cotter (49) was killed when her car and the defendant's vehicle collided at Loughaderra, Midleton, on August 29th, 1994.
