A THREE-NIGHT weekend break at Trabolgan Holiday Village varies in price according to the season and the number of guests. We had a three-night weekend break in mid-May; our house was a Sycamore, which sleeps six and cost €645. This price covers accommodation, use of the swimming pool and most leisure activities. Bowling, go-karts and adventure sports are extra, although on the weekend of our visit these charges had been lifted.

There are two restaurants and an ice-cream parlour on site. The supermarket sells fresh bread and has a limited supply of groceries.

On Saturday night we went awol and ate at the Pepperstack Bistro in Rosie's Bar, Lower Aghada. Buzzing and friendly, and a terrific place to eat, a couple of starters, two bowls of mussels, fish and chips, barbecue ribs, one much-fought-over dessert and a couple of drinks cost about €80.
