Shopping for art

Art Ireland's Maria McMenamin hosts leading Irish and international galleries this week for the inaugural Dublin Art Fair '08.

Francis Bacon, Mark O'Neill, Andy Warhol, Hughie O'Donoghue and Gerard Byrne will be among the many artists represented. At the centre will be "Project Platform", an exhibition space dedicated to four non-commercial Dublin-based studios, featuring Oisín Byrne and Norwegian Magnihild Opdøl, and curator Padraic E Moore has chosen fresh talent for his "emerging curator space". The event will take place from Thursday, September 11th to Sunday, September 14th at the RDS, Main Hall, Dublin. Tickets €15 for three days' admission. www.dublinartfair.ie
