THE SOCIAL NETWORK:The offstage bar at the Peacock was far from quiet on Tuesday evening for the opening of Owen McCafferty's new play, Quietly. Two major Toms of Irish theatre were in attendance: playwrights Tom Murphy and Thomas Kilroy.

Cian O’Brien, the director of Project Arts Centre, was chatting to the director Conor Hanratty and the producer Lara Hickey; all are graduates of the Rough Magic Seeds programme for young artists.

Actors Janet Moran and Alicja Ayres were there, after recently coming off the Peacock’s boards in Shibari. Moran was beginning to shoot Quirke the next day, a BBC adaptation of the crime novels written by John Banville under the pseudonym Benjamin Black. Gabriel Byrne is also in the cast.
