Cheryl Cole confirms marriage to French boyfriend

X-Factor judge dating restauranteur for three months before Caribbean ceremony

X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole has confirmed that she married her French boyfriend earlier this month.

The Girls Aloud singer (31) tied the knot with Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini on July 7th. She is said to have been dating the 33-year-old French restaurateur for just three months.

It has been reported that the couple married on a beach on the Caribbean island of Mustique with just four guests in attendance including Cole’s mother Joan Callaghan, but the singer did not give any details about the ceremony.

In a statement on her Facebook page early today Cole wrote: “I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news...Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14. We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together.”

The 31-year-old posted a close-up picture of her wedding ring alongside the statement.

Cole had previously been married to footballer Ashley Cole but they divorced in 2010.

The singer is back as a judge on the UK X-Factor after being cut from the US version of the television talent contest in 2011.

Earlier this month she said television producer Simon Cowell was “right to get rid” of her from the US X-Factor but “wasn’t right not to tell me in my face”. The singer said she felt like she was having a “nervous breakdown” in early 2013 but is in a much better place now.
