ACT Manufacturing, a US contract electronic manufacturing company, is to lease 45,000 square feet of space at City West Business Park in west Dublin. The company, which recently took over another company, Sign Max, will be paying £16.25 per square foot under a long lease with a break option in the 10th year. The plant will bring to over 400,000 square feet the volume of space in City West, which is being developed by Davy Hickey Properties. Most of the companies are involved in the computer industry. The building to be occupied by Act Manufacturing was pre-funded by Irish Life as part of a £12 million investment in the park. Irish Life also owns a 30,000square-foot block which is rented by Donnelly Mirrors at £6.25 per square foot. Another building of a similar size is also under construction for Irish Life. Jones Lang Wootton has handled the lettings.

Work is also under way on the first stage of an office complex of 120,000 square feet which is being funded by Bank of Ireland Asset Management. Negotiations are at an advance stage to lease the first unit of 30,000 square feet. The next stage will have 42,000 square feet in eight units, which will be for letting or for sale at a price in the late £600s per square foot.
