Dublin 6: €1.85mA tasty redbrick gets a bit of added glamour from being near a new Michelin-starred restaurant, says Property Editor Orna Mulcahy

Ranelagh's Michelin-starred restaurant Mint has been packed since it recent elevation to foodie stardom, and now Sherry FitzGerald is hoping that its fame will draw attention to property for sale in the area.

The agency has just dropped the price of a villa-style house at 22 Annesley Park from €2.2 million to €1.85 million and will be showing the three-bedroom house this weekend.

The split-level redbrick house has been renovated and extended in a dramatic, colourful style that is the antithesis of the cream and beige look currently washing over much of south Dublin. Forget neutrals and instead think of big bold colours like marine blue, hot pink and warm terracotta. They all feature in the interioror of the semi-detached redbrick which has just over 130sq m (1,400sq ft) of living space.

The stained glass fanlight over the front door is picked up inside with a round stained glass window in the hall that is original to the house. There is also a pretty stained glass window in the downstairs shower room which is a splendid room with antique style fittings, emerald green tiling and marble effects.

Villa-style houses generally suffer from a disconnect between upstairs and down, in this case solved by a new staircase that leads from the livingroom downstairs to a diningroom, and the large open-plan kitchen.

Upstairs, the three bedrooms share a bathroom with a dramatic black and white theme.

A peaceful walled garden completes the package. Sadly, meals at Mint are not included.
