Holland & Barrett, Europe's largest chain of health food shops, has taken outlets in Belfast's Park Centre and Ballymena's Tower Centre as part of a programme for seven outlets in Northern Ireland. Lisney's Belfast office acted for Holland & Barrett. The shops opened include a 1,050 sq ft unit at Park Centre with a rental of £38,000 sterling. The Ballymena unit has 1,638 sq ft of space over two floors with a rental of £53,000 which includes a six-month rent-free period.

The chain has 430 outlets in Britain and has become Europe's largest retailer of health foods, supplements and vitamins. It is owned by the US leader in the sector, NBTY, which is based in Bohemia, New York.
