The owner of the Victorian Salvage and Joinery Company is selling his cut-stone Georgian farmhouse, four miles from Dunlavin in unspoiled West Wicklow.
Agent JP& M Doyle is guiding in excess of £750,000 (€952,300) prior to auction on 4th October for the four-bedroom detached house, which is - as expected given its ownership - in perfectly restored condition.
The 3,300 sq ft house on three acres is in a very peaceful location, two miles from Hollywood crossroads and around 25 miles from Dublin. A wooded driveway leads up to the house, which is sheltered by a grove of mature beeches.
Restoration work took Mark McDonagh the best part of three years. From top to toe, everything has been restored including a collection of picturesque stone outbuildings.

To the left are the diningroom and interconnecting sittingroom, both with matching black Kilkenny marble mantelpieces salvaged from an old Dublin house. The green-painted drawingroom/study to the right off the hall has a sandstone fireplace.
Wood panelling gives the big country kitchen at the back of the house a cosy feel. Here, hand-made pine units with mahogany worktops are freestanding. A full range of Neff electrical equipment is included in the sale.
French doors open to a large terrace, covered with limestone flags rescued from a house in Co Meath. Upstairs, all four bedrooms are doubles and two have attractive vaulted ceilings. Two of the bedrooms have original restored fireplaces.
The family bathroom is a period showcase, with a genuine canopied bath and shower and Victorian high-level cistern. Carrara marble flooring came from a house on Dublin's Baggot Street. There is also a very spacious shower room with a large-headed Victorian wall shower.
A second period bathroom has been installed off the main bedroom, which has a panelled walk-in wardrobe and a laundry chute connecting to the downstairs utility area. Another chute is installed off the landing.
Outside, the stone outhouses include a 14 ft by 100 ft building intended for the owner's collection of classic cars. There is also a stone double garage.
The house is surrounded by a copse of tall beech trees. In all, over 200 trees grow on the three-acre holding.
