A diamond solitaire ring (2.10cts, J colour Si1 colour Guide) €5,000-€7,000; a gold diamond and emerald-set bird brooch (pictured right) €400-€600; a Falkland Islands £2 coin, €220-€280.

Tuesday, August 14th Hegarty’s Auction Rooms, Bandon, Co Cork. Auction at 7pm to include the contents of three country houses. Georgian, Regency and Victorian furniture, silver, porcelain and collectibles.

Wednesday, August 15th Herman Wilkinson Auction Rooms, Lr Rathmines Road, Dublin. Auction of “Fishing Tackle and Accessories” at 6pm. Over 200 rods and associated items such as boxes of hand-tied flies.

Saturday, August 18th Lynes Lynes auctioneers will auction the contents of the Loreto Convent, Fermoy, Co Cork at 11am. Furniture, silver, glass, church brass, harps and a large oil painting of the Crucifixion. Viewing begins next Thursday (August 16th) at 10am.
