The Horse and Hound pub, Artane, Dublin 5, is expected to fetch over £2 million when it comes to auction later this month, according to industry sources. Licensed-trade specialist Morrissey's is handling the sale of the traditional pub, which has a turnover of drink only, net of VAT, estimated at £900,000. The pub is owned by Tom Maher, who also owns the Hartstown House, at Clonsilla. The Horse and Hound has 2,726 sq. ft of floor space and was recently refurbished. It is for sale at auction on September 9th.

Morrisseys is also selling the family-owned Gondola pub, at Newcastle, Co Dublin. The Gondola has been run by the Dowling family for over 100 years and is being sold as the current owner, Paddy Dowling, retires. It is a traditional, wellkept pub with a lounge of 376 sq. ft, bar and pool room. It is believed the Gondola could fetch in excess of £1.5 million at auction on September 16th. The same agents are also understood to be expecting a price of over £500,000 for The Old Forge pub, at Swords Road, Santry, Dublin 9. The pub is located near Santry Stadium and is set on a 0.22-acre site. It has a turnover in drink only of £430,000.
