The traditional Easter weekend traffic jam begins anytime now and from the mad rush to get out of the city, it would seem that half the country owns holiday homes. Well, not quite. Recent JNLR/MRBI research found that seven per cent of the population has a holiday home either here or abroad, with Dubliners making up 45 per cent of second home owners. As the research is mostly used by advertisers, it breaks down homeowners into ABC1s and C2DEs, and it found that six out of 10 holiday homes are owned by the adman's favourite group, the solidly middle class ABC1.
