Calling all knitting enthusiasts – use your needle skills and start stitching with Oxfam’s new range of knitting designs.
The patterns are free to download on Oxfam Ireland’s website and the finished work can be sold in Oxfam shops to raise money to help change people’s lives.
The new designs range from corsages to gloves, hats and scarves, including the hat and gloves pictured below, and will suit knitters of all skill levels. Simply follow the easy-to-use patterns on www.oxfamireland.org/knitting, drop your knits into your local Oxfam shop and they will be sold to raise money for Oxfam's work to fight poverty, suffering and injustice around the world.
“The sale of a knitted scarf for €15 could buy an innovative clay cooking stove that uses less wood than conventional cooking methods, meaning that women living in high-risk places such as Darfur spend less time searching for firewood in remote areas where they are vulnerable to attack,” says Nyree Tubritt, Oxfam Ireland district retail manager.
