Hunt Museum

The Last Troubadour in Co Roscommon

International year of astronomy

This event is part of a global celebration of astronomy 400 years after Galileo Galilei first used a telescope. Glenarm Castle World Highland Games

Today and tomorrow will see athletes battle it out in categories such as pole climbing and sheep shearing in Ballymena, Co Antrim. The programme also includes Scottish and Irish dancing , traditional music, wood sculpting, funfair rides, and a fine-food marquee, featuring chef Jenny Bristow. Boutique burlesque

Dig out those corsets and top hats – Actons Hotel in Kinsale, Co Cork hosts a night of feathery fun tomorrow as part of the Kinsale Arts Festival. It kicks off with a swing-dance workshop, followed by a DJ with the best in big-band sounds and jumping jazz. The performance contains some nudity, and the burlesque dress code is optional.
