KING Puck, the wild male mountain goat, begins his transitory reign over the Co Kerry town of Killorglin on Saturday. The coronation parade takes place at 6.30 p.m. on Gathering Day, the first of three days' festivities. The fun continues on Sunday with performances from Bui Bolg street theatre at 2 p.m. and 5.30 p.m., the Fumbling Buffoonery Show at 5 p.m. and the Kaye Twins band at 9 p.m.
The party ends on Monday with the buying and selling of cattle providing a serious backdrop to street musicians and entertainers. King Puck is deposed and sent back into the wild in a dethronement parade which begins at 6.30 pm.
