Three members of New Order, Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris and Phil Cunningham, have formed a new band without bassist Peter Hook, who left the group in 2007.

The trio have hired Blur’s Alex James for their new project, Bad Lieutenant. Sumner claimed that a “pretty guitary” album

had already been recorded, and is due for release in October.
