Musical philosophy roadshow

FROM Tuesday next David Elliot, Professor of Music at the University of Toronto, embarks on a progress around the island lecturing on musical education, its importance in development of children's personalities - and proposing a different approach to its teaching in schools. Author of A New Philosophy of Music Education, Dr. Elliot will be "shortening the road" with the company of traditional musicians Niall Kegan (flute) and Sandra Joyce (song and bodhran). The Boydell Recital Room in Trinity College is the first venue, Prof. Elliot reaches The Triskel, Cork, next Wednesday; the Municipal Arts Centre, Galway on Thursday; The Harty Room at Queen's, Belfast on Monday 10th; and The Hunt Museum, Limerick, Wednesday 12th. All lectures are at 8pm and admission is free.
