What's the best gig you've been to?Ryan Adams in the Olympia in 2002. Demolitionhad just been released.

What are your favourite venues?DeBarra's, Clonakilty; Annesley House in Fairview, Dublin.

Who is the most famous person to have shown up at one of your gigs?Patti Smith.

Most embarrassing on-stage moment?At the Castlepalooza festival we shared a telepathic moment. We simultaneously lapsed in concentration and stopped playing.

What's your crowd-pleasing number?We currently do a cover of Loudon Wainwright's One Man Guythat people seem to like.

What's the most you've ever paid for a gig ticket?€380. It included flights to Barcelona to see Arcade Fire.

Chatting between songs – good or bad?Good rule of thumb is, if you think you have something you need to say, don't.

Have you a special stage wardrobe?It's nice to put on new socks before a show.

Do you like to meet and greet fans after the gig?We hope some day to have fans to meet and greet.

Any useful stage tips?Keep an eye on your gear. We've had pedals swiped.

If you could be in any other band, which one?The Maccabees. They always look so happy.

Who's invited to your aftershow party?Anyone who'd like to come.

What's your best tour story?We were once playing Simon Garfunkel's El Condor Pasain a bar and a lady threatened to throw her glass at us if we played "any more religious music".
