Tis the season to be charitable

’Tis the season to be jolly – but also the season to be charitable, should your bank account allow it

’Tis the season to be jolly – but also the season to be charitable, should your bank account allow it. A charity gig in aid of Barnados will be held tonight at The Grand Social venue in Dublin. The Christmas Concert will be MC’d by comedian Aidan Bishop and features a number of Irish bands.

Headliners are reggae-soul group The Barley Mob, who have played more than 150 gigs this year. In the spirit of all things cheesy and charitably Christmassy, lead singer Adam Daly said that the band felt “really privileged to lend our songs in return for smiles.”

They’ll be joined in their fundraising endeavour by singer-songwriter Fiach, G-Star Robo and a number of other guests. There will also be a raffle and the chance to win a signed guitar of Damien Dempsey’s and tickets to the Knockanstockan and Sibín Festivals. Tickets (€12) on the door or from eventelephant.com/barnados.
