Glass Swords (2011) demonstrated that Glasgow producer Russell "Rustie" Whyte had an unique sound and vision for propelling electronic music to another dimension. Much of that same giddy, thrilling playfulness is on show here, though a slightly different perspective is at work as the producer shows off a different set of drawings. The energy level remains high and the colouring is still effervescent, but Whyte has replaced some of the maximalism of old with more experimental and streamlined fandangos. There are poppier stabs on Lost and Dream On, and Whyte goes for the jugular with the Danny Brown-aided Attak. But it's on the hyper-vivid soundclashes (Raptor, D Double E) that you feel Rustie is on the way to someplace truly interesting. facebook.com/rustie666
