Twisted Pepper, Dublin Tomorrow 10.30pm 15/12 01-8734800
Subject have been pulling out all the stops with their capital city parties of late, and tonight's bash at Pogo sets the bar even higher. It's the Irish debut for Africa Hitech, Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek's collaboration. (They were due to play at the Cold Pro bash in Co Clare in June until that festival was cancelled.) Africa Hitech's 93 Million Milesalbum for Warp contains some skanking tunes ( Out in the Streetsetc) and plenty of evidence that the duo's sonic adventures are worth tracking.
The other name in large, bold print tonight is Shed, aka German producer and Berghain resident Rene Pawlowitz, who has proved his techno expertise with strong, invigorating albums such as The Traveller and Shedding the Past. Other DJs and acts on the bill include David O’Sullivan, Barry Redsetta, Disco Bloodbath, The Chillage Idiots, Eoin Callanan, Luke B, Radiomade and Planet Parade.
